From September 12-15th, PayTickr took part in the Institute of Professional Bookkeepers of Canada (IPBC) annual conference, IPBC Ignite. PayTickr had both a booth at the tradeshow and conducted a session for attendees on the Friday morning. CTO Brad Rougeau reflects on his time there.
“We had a fantastic time at IPBC Ignite 2018. The biggest takeaway we had from the conference was how vibrant and engaging the bookkeeper community is in Canada.
The conference really reinforced to us how crucial the ProTickr program is to the success of PayTickr. While we believe PayTickr stands amongst the best location/time tracking systems out there, the true beauty of the system comes at payroll time when payroll can be run without collecting any timesheets or making complex overtime/stat holiday calculations. Nobody can understand the value of that better than bookkeepers, and that’s why they are our strongest allies in convincing business owners to make the change to PayTickr ASAP!
While we came in to the conference with high expectations given that knowledge, we were absolutely blown away by the attendees’ curiosity, openness, and excitement. Kreg and myself were lucky enough to experience that three times over, at our booth, during our session on the Ethics, Regulations and 7 Best Practices for Employee Time & GPS Location Tracking, and during our webinar on the same topic. While we hope we were able to give attendees a bit of knowledge about PayTickr and our areas of expertise, we also gained a ton of knowledge through our conversations with attendees about how they do their bookkeeping, and we will be using that knowledge going forward to continue enhancing PayTickr and ensuring it works simply and efficiently for all companies.
In short, we found IPBC Ignite to be an incredible conference that we were very happy to attend in our hometown of Calgary, we can’t wait to reconnect with everyone next year in Ottawa!”
